Legacy 110

What is the Legacy 110 project?

As I am sure many of you are aware the years 2014-18 mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War, and with this in mind the Government have funded two students from every secondary school in the country to visit the Battlefields in France and Belgium as part of the Legacy 110 project.

The idea behind the Legacy 110 project is that students from every secondary school in the country attend the trip and complete a personalised project. This is then presented to a further 110 people in their local community, thereby reaching the same amount of people that died during the war.

The school managed to secure the funding for two students, along with myself, to visit the Battlefields from the 1st October 2017 to the 4th October 2017. Students were invited to apply for the chance to go on this excusion, by writing a formal letter of application stating why they believed they should be chosen to go with ideas as to what they might do for their project. We received lots of fantastic applications and in the end Adam Westmorland and Aaliyah Harris were chosen as History ambassadors for the school.
